Testimonials from the IBS and Food Allergy Communities

Patients benefiting from quality healthcare for food allergies

One Mother of a patient writes:

As far as Blake's concerned, he has adjusted quite well. Now they all ask, can I eat this? If I say no, they just say, "Darn!" No big deal most of the time. Blake had a birthday and I served a cake that he loved (so did his guests) that was dairy and egg free. He eats his cereal now without milk. Just dry. He's eating more oatmeal which suits me fine. He's tried almond milk in chocolate. He seems to really like that and soy nog. Both of which have sugar. Trying to cut that out. What a process!! For ease of cooking, I am trying to cut all gluten-y stuff out of Blake's diet as well - most of the time. I want to alleviate any future issues he might have. It's just easier this way (most of the time). We fudge sometimes but I don't want their issues to get worse.
I have to share, all the teachers meet with all the students this time of year for conferences. Blake's teacher said she noticed that "in the last 3 or 4 weeks, Blake has been focusing better." I said, "do you know what happened then? We took all of these allergens out of his diet." I was stunned that it was that noticeable. He has been so much calmer and less angry and less erratic. His grandma noticed, too. Amazing! I told Blake about their observations just to cement the deal, if you will. When I asked him if he was feeling better, he said yes, apparently because he thought that was what he was supposed to say. When I asked him again he said no. Who knows really but he's better.
