Specialized Food Producers

If you have food allergies, you probably know that some of the most common types of foods often contain the most common allergens. But this doesn't mean you can't have great food. There are a number of food producers that have emerged to support the celiac and food allergy communities. They produce baked goods, snacks, etc. usually in facilities that are specially designed or managed to eliminate cross contamination. Some specialize in gluten, dairy, and/or egg free offerings. If you have information about a great food producer that caters to the food allergy market, let us know.

Breads from Anna ®
Available online and in specialty grocers.

Anna is a chef with celiac who makes great gluten-free bread mixes. The Innate Health Foundation has provided her pumpkin and banana breads at our meetings/fund raisers and they are always a big hit. She has mixes that are corn-, soy-, dairy-, egg-, and even rice-free. Several mixes are also yeast-free. Breads she offered at a Seattle IBS/GIG support group meeting in 2007 were very well received. The secret is in her special mixes of flours from tapioca, arrowroot, chickpeas, beans, and other good stuff. The website has excellent tips on how to make these fresh breads from her mixes so they turn out great.

Ener-G Foods, Inc. ®
